New Development in Lenox Hill, NYC
242 East 71st Street
242 East 71st Street rises as a planned 22-story condominium designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects. Early renderings show a pale stone façade framed by oversized windows, Juliet balconies, stepped setbacks and a defined crown, bringing a measured blend of classical proportion and contemporary detailing to the Upper East Side skyline. At approximately 335 feet, the tower presents a restrained but distinct presence. Situated at East 71st Street and Second Avenue in Lenox Hill, the building sits on a residential corridor of Manhattan's Upper East Side with ground-floor retail and enclosed parking at its base. The site aligns the tower with the neighborhood's urban fabric while providing direct street-level amenities. Fifty residences will rise above the retail and parking podium, with no more than four homes per floor. Interiors are led by Alyssa Kapito; detailed finish packages, bedroom mix, asking prices and specific view orientations have not been released. Planned features include central air conditioning and in-unit washers and dryers. Publicly announced resident amenities include a fitness center with movement studios, a spa with sauna and steam room, a sports court, screening room, children's playroom, library, courtyard, roof terrace, resident and bicycle storage, package and mail rooms, a pet wash station, a porte-cochere and on-site parking.
